Housebound because of illness, lonely Caroline hasn't been to school in months. Confined to her room, she has only Instagram and Facebook for company. That is until cheerful classmate Anthony bursts in uninvited, bearing waffle fries and a school project on Walt Whitman's poetry due the next day... Caroline is skeptical at first, but Anthony’s warm and kind nature wears her down. Working through the poetry compels the pair to reveal their hopes and dreams… Is it really the assignment that drew these two together, or is it something much deeper?
After Shakespeare, Gunderson has been the most produced playwright in America for the last several years. Author of over 20 plays, Lauren has received the coveted Lanford Wilson Award at the Dramatists Guild Awards and two Steinberg/ATCA New Play Awards.
