Montgomery Theater offers two different workshop programs throughout the year. Both programs accept students ages 8 and up, and all experience levels are welcome!
Winter YAW
In January and February, we have once-a-week classes on specific theatrical subjects. Students work in small groups with professional Philadelphia-area teaching artists on performance skills, building confidence, and developing abilities through direct feedback. The session culminates in a small showcase presentation which is open to family and friends.
When: January & February, Monday nights 6-8p
Registration: Opens in November and closes when full
Summer Camp
In July, we offer a two-week camp where students learn short one-act musicals and perform them for family and friends on the last day. Each day, students rotate through choreography, music, and acting sessions, building the skills needed for performance on the final day.
When: July, Monday-Friday 9:30a-3p
Registration: Opens in February and closes when full
MTT is professional theater by young actors. These competitively cast productions are staffed and directed by the same designers and artists who work on our Main Stage, and performed by actors ages 12-18. Students work alongside the pros to produce hour-long shows which are suitable for family audiences of all ages. Each year we present a musical in the Spring and a play in the Fall. Upcoming auditions are listed on our Opportunities page.
When:
Musical - Auditions in March, Performances in May
Play - Auditions in August/September, Performances in October
